God Equals Genocide, Life of Doubt 7”EP

Santa Clarita is in the northernmost part of Los AngelesCounty, a place known for its urban sprawl, box stores, numbing suburbs, and its vicinity to a large amusement park. It is also home to a small, thriving punk scene that fights against that suffocating standardness, one house and generator-at-the-park show at a time.
Don Quixote tilted windmills, wholly convinced they were something else. Although he paid dearly for his miscalculations, he also, in a way, won. At least he got out there and gave it his all; didn’t sit at home, watching TV, emptily complaining.
God Equals Genocide lives in a part of the world that’s being stripped of its natural charms. Instead of accepting that they’re culturally being paved over, this trio play punk that joyfully grows out from the cracks in the crumbling, disposable culture around them.
Life of Doubt is God Equals Genocide’s second release and it’s a natural progression from their This World Is Wearin’ Me Down 7”EP (also released by Razorcake). Think of the cheerful anxiety of the Bananas mixed with the good-natured, stripped-down kit troublemaking of Allergic To Bullshit and This Bike Is A Pipebomb, and you’re in the right spot.
Razorcake is stoked to be co-releasing this record with Dirt Cult out of New Mexico.
Interesting fact: God Equals Genocide has two singers. Danny is a guy with a very high voice. Danny is many special things, but he’s not a woman. He’s the lead vocalist on the a-side of this 7”. Adrian, who is a woman, is the lead vocalist on the b-side. Dumbag Daryl plays bass. No one’s been confused by that.
