ROCKET FROM THE TOMBS:
I Sell Soul: 7"
Before both the Dead Boys and Pere Ubu became household names, the core of both groups was causing havoc in Cleveland under the moniker Rocket From The Tombs. While the initial incarnation never managed any legitimate releases, the reformed RFTT (with three-fifths of the original lineup involved) have been making up for lost time, releasing two CDs and now this single. The title track is an up-tempo tune with a late ‘70s Midwestern punk feel, while “Romeo & Juliet” is the slower and moodier of the two tracks here, both of which are blissfully tweaked out by David Thomas’ off-kilter vocals.
