ZISK, #11
(Fall 2005), 40 pgs.
By The Lord Kveldulfr Thursday, September 21 2006
Zisk describes itself on the front cover as “the baseball magazine for people who hate baseball magazines.” Imagine this as a punk rock version of Sports Illustrated or some such thing. It is a baseball magazine, but the agenda has a much more independent bend to it, apparently addressing issues that the commercial mags either don’t or won’t. But then, I really wouldn’t know, because I gave up on the yawn-fest know as the American Pastime years ago; these days I only look to make sure that the Brewers are appropriately mediocre, and then go digging for football news. I find no fault with the content or production of Zisk, just that it’s devoted to baseball. So, if you find that interesting, give this a look; I’m sure you’ll find fresh perspectives within. –The Lord Kveldulfr (801 Eagles Ridge Road, Brewster, NY 10509)
